Finding Common Ground: Integrated Climate Action for Open Smart Communities in Canada

With a mandate for climate action, adequate resourcing, and strategic alignment across sectors, jurisdictions, and domains, municipalities will play a crucial role in protecting the most vulnerable populations from climate-related shocks and stressors in the short term, in addition to proactively mitigating damage to ecosystems in the longer term. In this paper, we propose that the Open Smart Community (OSC) and climate change movements can merge in productive ways.
