The workshop was hosted by Evergreen’s Special Housing Advisor, Sean Gadon, and he was joined by leaders in the housing sector with deep expertise in Business Planning and Community Engagement. In the workshop recording, you will learn from these experts as they share their experience in the industry, hear from other shortlisted applicants about similar challenges they may be up against and identify strategies for developing sustainable implementation plans for your Stage 2 Application.

Curtis Whiley – Manager, Land Titles Initiative, Government of Nova Scotia 
Curtis Whiley is a 6th generation Canadian, and proud African Nova Scotian. Curtis is a community leader committed to creating solutions to some of Canada’s most unique and complex housing issues. From delivering home repair assistance, to securing land title claims, and increasing home ownership in Canada’s north, Curtis works with communities to create and implement solutions for those who are most vulnerably housed. In 2022, Curtis founded the Upper Hammonds Plains Community Land Trust to preserve and protect historical land in the community and create permanent affordable housing solutions.

Peter Zimmerman – Senior Director, Toronto Community Housing 
Peter Zimmerman is a Senior Director in the Development Division of Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) and the lead on the revitalization of Regent Park in downtown Toronto. Peter worked on staff at TCHC on the original plan for the revitalization of Regent Park and later worked as a senior executive in the real estate development industry. Peter is a Registered Professional Planner and an Adjunct Professor in the Program in Planning at the University of Toronto.
