Stephen Giustizia has over thirty years of leadership experience in government with nationally recognized contributions in social, community, and affordable housing development. His work has included the design and delivery of innovative housing strategies, policies, programs, and the leadership of multiple construction projects. It also included advancing collaborative development plans with indigenous service providers.  

Since retiring in 2021, Stephen has continued as an expert stakeholder, consultant, and advisor to national, provincial, and multiple local housing strategies. His guidance remains instrumental to building new partnerships and approaches that support affordable housing in small and large municipalities, with non-profit housing providers, and through private developments. Stephen remains proud of his roots, growing up in Northern Ontario, and has remained closely connected to the unique housing challenges faced by northern and remote communities.   

As a Chartered Institute of Housing Charter Member (CIHCM), Stephen is an active volunteer with their executive and education committees. He is a mentor to emerging housing leaders for CIH and the Canadian Housing Partnership Mentorship Program of the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association (CHRA).  Stephen is a professional member of the International Coaches Federation and has completed a Masters Certificate in Municipal Leadership (MCML) from the Schulich School of Business at York University and a Municipal Government Leadership Program at the Ivey School of Business at Western University.
