The Housing Supply Challenge, delivered by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), encourages residents, stakeholders, and experts from across Canada to propose innovative solutions that help break down the barriers that limit new housing supply.

The first Challenge Round — Data Driven — invited applicants to submit data solutions or methodologies that provide decision-makers with better information to make housing supply decisions. The Stage One application process for the Data Driven Round of the Housing Supply Challenge are now closed. Meet the funding recipients.

The second Challenge Round — Getting Started: Pre-development Processes — invited applicants to propose and develop locally relevant solutions that remove barriers to the development of housing that is affordable, with a specific focus on the pre-construction phase of projects. Applications for the Getting Started Round are now closed.

The third Challenge Round — Northern Access Round: Supply Chain Solutions for Northern and Remote Housing — will invite applicants to propose solutions that will improve efficient and affordable access to materials and resources in northern and remote regions.
