Alan Howell is a Licensed Professional Planner (LPP) and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP) working in Nova Scotia. His employment experiences have covered the private, public, non-profit, and academic sectors. He was an advisor to the Nova Scotia Affordable Housing Commission, focusing on housing data. In 2018-2019 he worked for the Halifax Regional Municipality as a planner dedicated solely to affordable housing. Alan currently works as a land use planner for the Nova Scotia Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing and is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Planning at Dalhousie University. He also serves on the board of directors for the Affordable Housing Association of Nova Scotia (AHANS) and is currently pursuing his designation as a real estate appraisal professional.
