Brent has over twenty years’ experience as a Senior Manager and Policy Analyst at the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. He led a team of professionals to design and implement the various Affordable Housing Programs across Ontario from 2003 to 2019.
Prior to senior management experience at the Ontario Public Service, Brent was one of the founding partners of a successful property management and consulting corporation in Toronto (Community First Developments Inc.). As a housing activist, Brent developed new housing communities for low-income and homeless single households (Woodgreen Community Housing) as well as new co-op and non-profit housing for the Labour Council in Toronto. Internationally, Brent worked in Kenya with the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements.
Brent is currently consulting with Tim Welch Inc. in Toronto as a Senior Housing Specialist and recently consulted as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Housing and Planning Services in Halton Region, Ontario. As a housing expert, Brent also participated in Round One of the CMHC-Evergreen, Housing Supply Challenge Support Program.
