Most cities are not design friendly for users with disabilities, but with an estimate of nearly one billion destined to be urban dwellers by 2050 globally, cities will need to undergo a radical shift in their design thinking. This panel discusses and outlines the founding principles of accessible and participatory design thinking, demonstrating how all users of our civic spaces can be engaged in a more equitable and democratic design process, and in turn how an improved accessible design process is to the benefit of all residents.
