My career has centred on supporting the development of Indigenous communities in a variety of fields, though my focus has been on working with communities to address violence and the impacts of hetero-patriarchy and settler-colonialism on communities, community development, education, health, and governance/leadership. I have dedicated my time to supporting both community-based and global approaches to Indigenous people’s social, political, legal, and economic equity and equality, and am honoured to have had a community role in working directly with families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and survivors of violence (locally and nationally). Though I am working to develop my skills as a connoisseur of tea, bannock, and dry meat, I still have much to learn and my many teachers continue to support me in learning about my role(s) and responsibilities in passing on culture, tradition, and language.
