As a Vancouver City Councillor, Andrea Reimer was part of a team tasked with a ten-year action plan to become the world's greenest city. It was a lofty goal but a vision that continues to be a focus for the city.
She says that while cities often have big goals, the best thing they can do is aim high. Whether it's to be the greenest city in the world or to build bike lanes, the process is same. Building great cities lies in a common vision that begins with sharing, listening, learning and inspiring others. While no city is perfect, together we have enough ideas for a perfect city -- and then some.
